Hi, I’m Mike. I’m a drummer who started recording music for my band over 10 years ago and have been obsessed with getting an industry-standard sound for myself and customers since.
Start of Hike Mudd Audio
I’ve been a musician for 15+ years and finding the right Audio Engineer to complete a project was always a difficult process. That’s why I wanted to created an artist-friendly and thoroughly transparent service to help upcoming artists get the most out of their recordings without the high price tag associated with big record labels or popular recording studios. I officially launched Hike Mudd Audio in 2020.
Projects and experience
I started in the world of audio engineering in 2014, recording and editing music for personal projects (bands, solo music and artistic projects). From there I began focusing on recording instruments and manipulating the sounds to create music and artistic soundscapes, releasing my first professional EP a couple of years later.
In 2018, I switched focus within my Fine Art degree towards music and completed a critique on The Loudness War, looking at digital vs analogue mixing, mastering and distribution. The research primarily looked into audio frequencies and how industry standards shifted over time.
Since then, I’ve completed many professional mixing, mastering and distribution projects for myself and numerous leeds-based artists / bands with success on streaming platforms and radio.
